The city of Denpasar possesses strong cultural potential; however, the challenges of globalization and shifting patterns of cultural engagement among younger generations highlight the need for an educational cultural space that is contextual and symbolically meaningful. This study aims to examine the application of symbolic architecture in the design of a Cultural Gallery in Denpasar, focusing on strengthening local identity through meaningful forms, spatial orientation, and traditional Balinese cultural elements. A qualitative descriptive method was employed, supported by literature studies on architectural symbolism, Balinese cosmology, and cultural gallery design standards. The findings indicate that symbolic elements expressed through building massing, motifs, spatial orientation based on the kaja–kelod and sanga mandala concepts, and integrated cultural narratives can create exhibition spaces that are communicative, immersive, and meaningful. The application of symbolic architecture not only enhances the visual identity of the building but also improves visitors’ emotional engagement and understanding of Balinese cultural values. This research is expected to serve as a foundation for designing cultural gallery spaces that bridge traditional heritage with modern spatial needs.
